The process of making a sculpture is usually a long one but always
of interest so I thought you might like to see some images of pieces
I have made works in clay, wax and plaster, each providing different challenges. But of course the making of does not end there because once the sculpture is completed the moulding and casting begins so that the piece can be created in its Bronze or Resin version.
A sheet of clay has been flattened to about a cm thick. The sheet has been stood upright and joined to form a tube. Using the hand inside the tube, shapes are pushed out from the inside, taking care not to touch the outside, which would leave fingermarks. Support around the base of th tube prevents it from collapsing.
